Editorial Illustration

I designed this illustration series to honour the world-class Euskal culinary scene.

However, besides the Micheline-starred restaurants, the bars are unquestionably the most appealing gastronomy sites in the Basque Country. Whether they are a local or a visitor, one will beyond doubt enjoy the widely served snacks called pintxo(ak) or pintxo(s). These are cooked, baked, pickled, etc. delicacies, traditionally served on top of a piece of bread. As support, they conventionally are pierced by a toothpick or a skewer.

I used bright and bold colours to represent the diversity of this emerging segment of Basque cooking.
